Cambridge, 27 & 28 June 2019

ABA Section of Family LawThis conference, organised by Cambridge Family Law together with the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL) and the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Family Law, will explore a range of issues and challenges surrounding the law and practice of national and international surrogacy from a practical perspective. Practitioners, lawmakers, academics and other participants will discuss the legal consequences of the rise in surrogacy arrangements and, in particular, reproductive tourism.



The Conference is by invitation only, and the invitation email will contain the validation code required for the booking.

Accommodation and conference dinner


Selwyn CollegeAccommodation for conference attendees and accompanying persons is available in the traditional Selwyn College, located in Cambridge and right next to the conference and dinner venue.

Single rooms can be booked for the nights of 26, 27 and/or 28 June. Experience what it is like to be a student at a Cambridge College, with room rates (singles only) considerably cheaper than those offered by any city centre hotels (£90/£108 for accompanying persons, including breakfast in college). There are a limited number of rooms available, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Conference dinner

The conference dinner will take place on 27 June. After a day’s intensive exchange, enjoy the conference dinner in the Main Hall of beautiful Selwyn College.

The price for the dinner is £70 for participants (£84 for accompanying persons), including a champagne aperitif and wine. There are a limited number of dinner tickets available, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Conference fee

The conference fee is £ 400 for practitioners (and £500 after 15 March), and £150 for academics/government institutions/NGOs (£200 after 15 March).
