Clara María Arranz Hierro holds a PhD in Law from the Universidad San Pablo CEU in Madrid; her thesis was entitled "Marital Love and Marriage in Roman Law." She also has postgraduate degrees in Family and Inheritance Law, in Civil Procedural Law and in Canonical Marriage Law. She is the author of several research articles whose underlying theme is marriage in Roman and current times, from civil and canonical perspectives. She is visiting Cambridge Family Law to undertake a comparative study. Previously she completed another research stay at Lateran University in Rome. She combines her research work with a work as a solicitor in her own law firm Arranz Hierro Abogados.
