Members of the Centre have been involved in work with government, providing guidance and advice, as well as training for staff.

  • Advice and Guidance on International Surrogacy Arrangements: Fenton-Glynn and Scherpe were contracted by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to develop guidance documents for intended parents thinking about entering into an international surrogacy arrangement. These included a pre-birth guide on Planning for international Surrogacy, a guide to help Planning for Travel and Birth, and a Guide on what to do when Returning to the United Kingdom. Fenton-Glynn and Scherpe also developed a Guide for Foreign Agencies who work with UK intended parents, explaining the laws that apply in this country, which has also been translated into several languages. As part of this project, they also provided training for FCDO staff working on these issues.
