Elizabeth Stuart PerryElizabeth Stuart Perry is a LL.D doctoral candidate in law at Umeå University, Sweden, completing doctoral research that compares and analyses the child support systems of Sweden and the United States (specifically California’s) in light of the two jurisdictions’ respective welfare state models.

Elizabeth’s present research interests are at the intersections of comparative law, family law, public welfare law and sociology of law. Previously Elizabeth has worked as, among other things, a California attorney practicing primarily family law and civil litigation, a lecturer at Umeå University’s Department of Law, a social science/behavioral researcher and a biologist. She has taught in several subject areas, primarily in EU law, comparative law, Swedish international private law, American/common law traditions and family law.

She holds a JD in law from Duke University, United States, as well as an AB in biological sciences from University of Chicago.
