Professor Jessica Palmer is an Associate Professor at Otago University and visited Cambridge as a Herbert Smith Freehills Visitor. She teaches courses in contract, equity and commercial law and her main research interests lie in equity and restitution. She is a graduate of Auckland and Cambridge and a contributing author of two leading textbooks in New Zealand on Equity and Trusts, and Civil Remedies.

Jessica was a member of the reference group assisting the New Zealand Law Commission in its recent Review of the Law of Trusts and much of her recent writing has been directed to the problematic relationship between trusts and matrimonial property. She is currently co-organising a colloquium and related book project reviewing the statutory regime in New Zealand for the division of relationship property.
