Liping WangLiping Wang is a professor at the Law School of Shandong University (Qingdao) as well as a part-time vice-president of Shandong Woman’s Federation, China. She received her Ph. D in Law from Shandong University with a dissertation on parental rights and responsibility. Her research interests are in Family Law, children’s rights, gender equality, and education law. In 2006-2007 she was a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar at Harvard Law School, in March-April 2018 she was Visiting Scholar at the Law School of Waseda University. She participated in the drafting of legislation and provided expert drafts for the Family Law in Civil Code of China and the Anti-Domestic Violence Act of China, but also for local regulations such as the regulations of Shandong Province on the Protection of Women’s Rights and Interests, on the Protection of Children’s Rights and Interests, on Preschool Education, etc.

Her current research focus on policies and laws on child custody, the public child care system and early childhood education. She hopes to contribute to governmental policy to promote the protection of children’s rights and the development of preschool education in China. In addition, she is studying women’s right at the workplace and in education from a gender perspective.
