<img alt="Professor Belinda Fehlberg" src="/sites/www.law.cam.ac.uk/files/images/www.family.law.cam.ac.uk/corresponding_members/belinda.jpg" style="width: 275px; height: 400px; margin-left: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px; float: right;" />Esther Vicente is a Full Professor of Law at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico Law Faculty, San Juan, Puerto Rico. She teaches courses on Family Law, Constitutional Law, Property Law, International Protection of Human Rights and Feminist Jurisprudence. The University of London granted her Ph. D. in Law in 2002; and in 1991 she received an LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her Juris Doctor and Bachelor in Arts degrees are from the University of Puerto Rico.

Professor Vicente is the author a book titled, Más Allá de la Ley: sexo, género y violencia en las relaciones de pareja (Beyond law: sex, gender and violence in intimate relationships), published by INTERJuris in 2017. She has also co-authored the book Politics, Visions and Voices on Abortion in Puerto Rico and participated in the compilation of two collections of essays: Constitutional Law in the Caribbean: Gender, Sexuality and the Law, INTER-Mujeres, San Juan, 2015; and Constitutional Law in the Caribbean: Same Sex Marriage, INTER-MUJERES, 2016. Professor Vicente has also published numerous articles in professional journals and chapters in several books on family law matters, feminist perspectives, legal theory and violence in intimate relationships.
