Rieneke Stelma-Roorda is a PhD Candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement. Her PhD project focuses on the living will, in the UK better known as a lasting power of attorney. As part of her PhD project, Rieneke is currently conducting a comparative study looking at the legislation and best practices on living wills in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom (England & Wales). Her visit to the Centre is part of a series of visits to research institutes in each of the aforementioned countries. This study is funded by a fellowship grant from the Dutch Alzheimer’s Foundation.
