A year following their visit to New Zealand in late 2016, Miles and Scherpe are continuing to engage with the development of relationship property law in New Zealand. They have recently been consulted again by the team at the NZ Law Commission that is conducting its wide-ranging project surveying that area of law, whose 900 page long Issues Paper (published this autumn) refers extensively to the work of Miles and Scherpe. Both members of CFL contributed chapters to the book, just published, of the colloquium held in Auckland in December 2016 – Palmer et al (eds) Law and Policy in Modern Family Finance. Meanwhile, some of Miles’ earlier writing on NZ relationship property law was referred to earlier this month by the NZ Supreme Court in the judgment of Glazebrook J, in Scott v Williams [2017] NZSC 185.
